Panelists: Hiten Shah – KISSmetrics, Dan Martell – FlowTown, Chase McMichael – Infinigraph

Learn how to apply the A/B testing methodology to your marketing campaigns for increased social media engagement.

I.e. Split Test Social Media

Dan: Split testing is experimenting. Coming up with an idea for what will work and trying multiple approaches.

Hiten: Strategy is key. Start by finding out where your visitors hang out – i.e. use Flowtown to get the social profiles of your consumers via their email addresses.

Chase: Google Alerts is a great tool to use to check out what content your users are into. Content makes the campaigns pop!

Hiten: A Tweet with no link is still content – maybe you’ll get a re-tweet. You can post tweets more than once. I say up till someone gets upset.

Chase: Remember that it’s about time zones – obviously early int he morning people are checking their posts. And, Wednesday and Thursday are good days.

Chase: How do you test a tweet? Well, you can do a search on the RT. Or, set up a special site connects to your various tweet so that you can know how many people go to your landing page.

Hiten: Depending on your message, you’ll have a different goal. Give your bit.ly links special URLs and track your info.

Chase: Then use google analytics to track how many clicked to your page….We used pixel tracking for videos and KickApps for the base.

Hiten: I love to test apps on Facebook – the targeting demographics are amazing.

Dan: Before you make a new channel, check with your customer base to figure out where they go already.

Chase: Lists in Facebook is an amazing tool – you can compartmentalize the individuals that are connecting with you. You can choose which list receives which information/posts.
