First of all thank you Murray for this great opportunity to be interviewed by you.

Famous Bloggers is a multi-author blog and Social Network for Making Money Online Tips built on the contributions of its authors. We are serious about creating a fun, safe, rewarding, and effective Social Network platform for SEO, Marketing, Traffic, Design, Social Networking and Making Money Online Tips! I got great respond from our readers which encouraged me to push it to the next level, I would like to compete with the monster blogs out there.

What was your first blog?

My first blog was and still My Life Thinking blog, it’s still running and it’s as I call it a captivating and sensitive mix of personal insights and international events. I blog about all what catches my eyes and mind in life, I really didn’t I know about blogging niches when I first started blogging that time! So it’s a general blog with no specific niche, and it’s still the main source of my online income, it’s breaking the roles of “only blog niches can make profits”.

What is the biggest tip you would give to a newbie blogger?

Let start from the beginning, I advise anyone who want to start blogging to read more about it before to know what options he have first before deciding the right tools for blogging, blog niche, domain name, hosting service, and then he/she might be ready to go for building your blog community!

What do bloggers do that you wish they wouldn’t?

I don’t believe in Blogging for fun because I can not see the fun part on it, so even if you are blogging just for fun try to plan it, maybe one day you will discover it’s the best thing you are good at, and you will regret the time you spend blogging “for fun”, I hope the spammy commentators stop the bad behavior on others blogs, and also the “thank you” and “plz call me back” kind of comments!

Where do you see growth in the blogging field? 

I see it on the media field, as a media tool when you can be heard and you have a voice that really can make change.

What new ideas are advertisers coming up with to take advantage of new trends?

Actually I can not imagine what’s on the advertisers minds for real because there are thousands if not millions of advertisers out there trying their best to develop their advertising methods, but there is some of what I think is good trends of advertising coming on the way like specially with the movement of  internet TV and Google phone and that might be another way to spread links in a super-quick time.

What is one thing about you that not many people know?

So many people don’t know my love to write songs and compose music of my own! Maybe because I don’t mention that so often, but actually this is one thing that I do when I need to relax and forget about the world

With over 1,960,000 Facebook Fans, Justin Timberlake is an unquestionable Facebook celebrity. His Facebook Fan Page is one of the more active, with thousands of comments and Likes on his posts and a steady stream of interaction from the star himself. And now, Timberlake may be taking his Facebook celebrity status to the next level by playing one of the social network’s founders.

This week Mashable reported that he has accepted the role of Sean Parker celebrity blogger, co-founder of Napster and original Facebook President. Mashable and other publications have been complimentary of the script and excited about the talent behind the writing and directing of the film-Aaron Sorkin as writer and David Fincher as director.

The Facebook movie is actually titled The Social Network and is based on the book The Accidental Billionaires and has a reported budget of $47 Million. CEO Mark Zuckerberg will reportedly be played by Jesse Eisenberg of the upcoming Zombieland.

Facebook is truly cementing its role in the big time if there is a movie being made- not the Facebook celebrity power will explode onto the mainstream media culture. Certainly, Facebook has been all over for months, but the Facebook movie will move Facebook and social media in general to the ranks of skateboarding or other extreme sports, giving it a story.

In marketing, whether traditional marketing or specifically Facebook marketing, story plays an essential role. With over 250 Million international users, Facebook as a social networking platform doesn’t need to be marketed to gain new users. But associating the original story of Facebook (not that long ago, remember) will give a new dimension to the leading social network. Will it bring a new legitimacy and create an even more maninstream approach than what Facebook currently enjoys? Or will it serve to paint the social network world as something else?

How will the movie affect the use and viability of Facebook as a social media and marketing platform?

Celebrity Blogger in social media, Celebrity Blogger Murray Newlands

The concept of celebrity changes depending on the context. Most people I think would classify a celebrity as someone that everyone else has heard of or knows about. Maybe someone you can recognize in a picture. But in my travels I know of plenty of celebrities on either side of the pond that are household names where they come from and virtually unknown in the other country.

What about the nature of a celebrity in the social media sphere? What does it mean to be an online celebrity, or a celebrity blogger? Do I qualify as a celebrity blogger? I wanted to find this out.

I was recently invited to do an interview with Doug Richard as part of his School for Startups where I talked about social media and affiliate marketing. Doug Richard was one of the original Dragons from the Dragon’s Den TV series, and The Doug Richard School for Startups provides expert classes on how to start a new business, finance and investment, product management, managing successful teams and entrepreneurial marketing.

Myself, Doug and the audience of 150 discussed their companies and how affiliate marketing might work for them. It was a time for quick thinking and straight answers. It was great being part of quality learning and conversation in the startup business world. Does that make me a celebrity blogger?

And if I am able to see other blog posts about me in other blogs that I respect and read like AdRants and FeedFront, does the publicity alone make me a celebrity blogger?

I just cracked 32,000 Followers on Twitter, and as Twitter is technically a micro-blogging service, does that qualify me as a celebrity blogger?

Perhaps in the social media sphere, where community, conversation and connection is everything, the concept of celebrity doesn’t apply. Or maybe it is the way we all take the word celebrity, with the dose of self-importance. I looked up a few words to see how Dictionary.com would classify a celebrity blogger.

According to them, celebrity is defined as, “1. a famous or well-known person.”

Hmmm. Well known in the sense of Facebook connections and Twitter followers, yes- well known in the sense of blog readership, well, yes.

But famous? Again, I looked it up. Famous is defined as, “having a widespread reputation, usually of a favorable nature.”

And, I would say I have a widespread reputation of a favorable nature.

So, can I reach my goal of being a famous blogger and a celebrity blogger? According to Dictionary.com, I am proud to find that I am becoming a well-known person with a widespread reputation of a favorable nature in the blog world. But using the term celebrity blogger doesn’t mean much on its own- continuing to grow the relationships I have started with other bloggers and social media people, having new, interesting and meaningful conversations with other bloggers and social media practitioners, and being part of the blogging and social media communities that I have joined is the real benefit to being a celebrity blogger (meaning, a well-known blogger with a widespread reputation of a favorable nature). Now that’s a celebrity blogger.

RichPrettyGirl.com is a comedy show with an outrageous character named Rich Pretty Girl who gives her view on news, sports, business, and has celebrity guests. Every Friday a new show posts. Some of the biggest players in Pro football and celebrities such as Actor/Comedian Tom Green, former heavy weight champion of the world Evander Holyfield, musician of famed R&B song ‘Knock on Wood’ Eddie Floyd, and two-time Grammy nominee Paul Oakenfold have appeared on the show.

What was your first blog?

The first episode of RichPrettyGirl.com was posted October 20, 2006. Almost immediately following, bit torrent, which has over 150 million clients worldwide, featured the video blog as a top publisher for months and said it was ‘the end of American Civilization’. We quickly became viewed in over 97 countries.

What is the biggest tip you would give to a newbie blogger?

Be yourself. If you are being very authentic to who you are then your audience will follow you.

What do advertisers do that you wish they wouldn’t?

Post advertisements at the beginning of the show. But I can’t complain really because I have posted a Jose Cuervo add at the beginning of my episodes every week!

What do bloggers do that you wish they wouldn’t?

Sometimes they are programming for the super high tech / Internet geek audience (mean that with respect) and they make it a bit challenging to navigate easily through the website. You click on a page, and then you get totally lost from the blog.

Where do you see growth in the blogging field?

I see growth in video blogs where people are designing weekly episodes for niche audiences. I see a shift in the way advertisers perceive them. They are starting to trust bloggers and advertise.

What new ideas are advertisers coming up with to take advantage of new trends?

Jose Cuervo hired me to report on special events they were attending, such as the Super Bowl and the Winter Music Conference, for my video blog. It’s sort of like product placement but even better for them because I’m living Jose Cuervo for 9 minutes on my show.

As a Celebrity Blogger What do you do to improve the world?

I inspire people and spread the love.

What is one thing about you that not many people know?

I’m not telling! I have many secrets.

So sad. I have never used my ipod. I bought a pink one and it just sits on my desk gathering dust.
