London Blogger: London Blogger Meetup Great to Connect with Other Bloggers

Bloggers spend a lot of time at computers, typing away to create new posts, thinking about advertising and SEO, and talking to other bloggers on social media networks.

But what about talking to other bloggers in person? As exciting and rewarding as blogging is, it’s often not a team sport, and even the teams and networks of bloggers that do exist are seldom in the same room- Enter the blogger meetup.

The classic blogger meetup (if it can be considered classic) is about business connections, sharing information and tips around blogging and advertising, and, perhaps most importantly, about meeting other bloggers.

The London Blogger Meetup was started by Andy Bargery in late 2007. His initial post describes the purpose of the meetup this way:

“Just a bunch of London bloggers getting together to swap stories, share tips and ideas and to have a drink.”

I mean, how can you argue with that?

The next London Bloggers Meetup is on 7 July 2009 at a TBD Zone 1 location- though the website does reveal that it is sponsored by LastMinute.com, and that beyond buying a few beers, they will be announcing exclusive details about a summer promotion that has something to do with travel writers, blogging and competition… sounds a bit too enticing to pass up.
