Tell me about yourself/What’s your background?

I am business start-up and growth guy that migrated from the realm of multi-national energy companies to living in the world of small and medium sized companies and being as close to the action as possible. I am now responsible for establishing liligo.com as a travel brand in the UK.

Tell me about liligo.com?

Liligo is Europe’s most innovative real-time travel search engine. The company is based in Paris and is present (with local accents) all over Europe. Our unique proposition has won us many premier partners (including MSN, Via Michelin and Sony Ericsson).

What has been your biggest challenge so far?

We have experienced quite staggering growth since we went live 4 years ago. Managing the Liligo brand in many different countries across Europe has been challenging for us all.

How would you convince someone to give the liligo program a try?

The liligo affiliate program in the UK brings together all our experience gained from running programs around Europe. Our main strengths are high conversion rates (on average, over 50% of visits generate earnings for affiliates) and predictable earnings with fixed commissions per click. We also pay out on clicks to low cost airlines such as easyjet and Ryanair – no other affiliate programs in the UK do this!

What   developments does liligo have planned?

We are planning exciting things in the mobile space and are already seeing some good results here. We have a leading travel iPhone app in Italy and Spain, for example, and also work with Sony Ericsson.

What are the main things affiliates do that you wish they wouldn’t?

Some affiliates would happily sacrifice long-term profitability in exchange for a quick buck. That is a real pity because such short-sightedness is unhelpful to us all, especially when ethics go out of the window.

What do you do that is green?

Liligo provides a real-time carbon calculator alongside flight prices, enabling users to gauge the different environmental footprints of their travel options.

What is on your iPod?

Or more appropriately, what do I listen to on Spotify? Everything… except heavy/trash metal.

What’s your favourite book?

I really love Herd by Mark Earls – a fantastic book about our social nature.
