Mashable is one of the foremost of the social media news outlets, always bringing the newest, hottest and latest in everything social media. This summer they have been running a campaign called Social Good that donates money to causes doing good. The conference will also be broadcast on LiveStream.com.

On August 28 in New York City they will be hosting the first annual Social Good Conference (#socialgood). The conference is sponsored by Zappos and MailChimp and 100% of the proceeds go to the Social Good supported organizations: LiveSTRONG, WWF, The Humane Society, and Oxfam America. If you are in or around New York City, this is a great opportunity to be part of the beginning of something that is sure to grow in both numbers and importance in the coming years, as well as influence. Using a similar business model to Good Magazine (where 100% of subscription money goes to good causes), Social Good is an innovative initiative that is starting an innovative conference forum.

Keynote speaker will be Randi Zuckerberg, Marketing Director, Facebook.

Opening remarks from Adam Hirsch, COO, Mashable.

There will also be presentations from CauseCast, “where media, philanthropy, social networking, entertainment and education converge to serve a greater purpose,” and GlobalGiving, “an online marketplace that connects you to the causes and countries you care about.”
