Tell me about your Banjo Blog?
I have a blog called “My Banjo Life” wherein I pass along advice, humor, instructions, thoughts, etc., regarding 5 string bluegrass banjo picking. I talk about many facets of being a bluegrass banjo player. Sometimes personal, sometimes informational, and as often as possible very humorous. Picking banjo is a lot of fun and there is a great community of banjo players worldwide.
What was your first blog?
“My Banjo Life” is my first blog. I’m soon to be starting another blog for the West Michigan Bluegrass Music Association.
What is the biggest tip you would give to a newbie blogger?
It’s hard to pick just one. Maybe the biggest would be to set up your blog on the WordPress platform, and self-host it. Don’t go WordPress.com, or any of the other blogging platforms.
What do you do to improve the world?
I try to give new banjo players a place to hang out, learn, and get a few laughs when it comes to our chosen art form. Hopefully I inspire some thought, cause a laugh or two, and give someone a diversion for just a little while
What do you do that is green?
Nothing! Not a “green” proponent
What is one thing about you that not many people know?
I have 5 children!
What’s your favourite book?
I can’t narrow it down. I have a favorite genre, and that is historical documentaries regarding World War II, the concentration camps, and World War II aviation in general
What is on your iPod?
A very eclectic mix. From Ricky Skaggs’s to Squirrel Nut Zippers to Tom Jones to Barry Manilow to Lou Rawls to the Rat Pack…and more!
